    Mechanical simulation refers to all 3D computer-aided engineering (CAE) applications that are dictated by the mechanical properties of a product, such as noise and vibration analysis, acoustics, fatigue analysis, multi-body dynamics and crash simulation. The applied technologies are typically based on the relevant physics and may include finite element analysis, boundary element analysis, multi-body dynamics or similar. Engineers primarily use mechanical simulation during the detailed engineering phase, to study and predict how the product will behave in real life, using application-specific models.
